Naturally, Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights lies not far off. This is a world apart. Light intrudes on the scene, capturing monstrous poses and flushing out lurking figures. These pathetic monsters hardly seem likely to survive but their determination drives them to scrabble about for sustenance and for the pleasures of the flesh.
